Step 1: Pull final numerical grades from CANVAS

  1.  Make sure all turned in assignments have been graded.
  2.  If a student has been exempt from an assignment, enter an 'EX' for the grade.
  3.  Verify grade weights are correct.  Summative = 75%, Formative = 25%, Transferable Skills = 0%

  4.  Select 'Treat Ungraded as 0' from the menu in your Canvas Gradebook.

5. Export your grades to a CSV file.

Step 2: Pull proficiency grades from the Learning Mastery Gradebook in CANVAS

  1. Select the Learning Mastery tab from the Gradebook view.
  2. Export the proficiency grades to a CSV file. (PLEASE NOTE: Once you complete your enrollments, we CANNOT retrieve data from the Learning Mastery gradebook which is why it is extremely important to export these grades.)
  3. Email the CSV file to Kim, kbovill@vtvlc.org OR Jeff, jrenard@vtvlc.org for VTVLC's records.

Now that you have your grades from Canvas, they need to be entered into Maestro.

Step 3: Enter final grades, self-direction & communication grades in Maestro.

(There are two different options for entering grades. You can enter them 1 student at a time, or multiple students at a time. These instructions are to enter grades for 1 student at a time. Please scroll for the second option.)

Option 1:

1.) Click on 'Enrollments' from the menu bar

2.) Click the 'Edit' icon next to the correct student

A new window will appear:

Select the 'Complete/Drop' tab.

  1. Enter the numerical grade next to 'Final Grade'
  2. Enter the self-direction & communication grade next to 'Final Comments'. You must type the words 'Self-Direction' before entering the grade so there is a reference as to what the grade means, same with communication.
  3. Select 'Complete'. This will send a grade report to the student, parent and counselor. This will also remove the student from your active gradebook in Canvas. (You can still view completed enrollments in Canvas, however the student will no longer show up on your active list of students.)

Option #2:

- Choose the Section for grades you want to enter

- Select Gradebook

- Enter numerical grade under 'Final Grade'

- Enter self-direction grade under 'Final Comments'. You must type the words 'Self-Direction' before entering the grade so there is a reference as to what the grade means.

- Click SAVE!

You now need to mark the student 'Complete'. This will send a grade report to the student, parent and counselor. This will also remove the student from your active gradebook in Canvas. (You can still view completed enrollments in Canvas, however the student will no longer show up on your active list of students.)

From the enrollments tab:

-Select the students who have final grades and need to be marked 'Complete'.

- Select the 'Bulk Launch' icon

Select 'Complete Enrollments'
